Fun Tot Activity - Elephant Toothpaste

Here's another easy and fun activity/science experiment to do with your kiddo(s)! It's called Elephant Toothpaste, and you can find the inspiration for this experiment here: Preschool Powol Packets

Instructions:
  1. Place an empty water or soda bottle in the middle of a pan
  2. Mix the following ingredients in a small bowl and set aside:
    • 2 Tablespoons warm water
    • 1 teaspoon yeast
  3. Pour the following ingredients into the empty bottle:
    • 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide (6% or more - I bought this at my local Sally Beauty Supply)
    • 4-5 drops food coloring (your choice)
    • quick squirt of liquid dish soap
  4. Now, pour the yeast mixture into the bottle and let the fun begin!
We did this three times with three different colors of food coloring. JT really loved to see the "big toothpaste" come out of the bottle each time! We had a good time with this and the cleanup is very easy since it was contained to the pan.

Enjoy!
