Fun Tot Activity - Snow Slime
Looking for an easy and fun activity to do with your little one(s)? This one was a winner for us! You only need a few ingredients and end up with a bowl full of "snow" slime! You can see the inspiration for our activity here: Growing a Jeweled Rose.
Recipe:
- 2 cups of white glue (we used Elmer's)
- 1 1/2 cups of warm water
Mix the above ingredients into a bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the following ingredients:
- 3/4 teaspoon Borax (available at many grocery stores and online - I got mine on Walgreen's website)
- 1 1/3 cups of warm water
Now, combine both bowls together and mix well (don't be afraid to use your hands!). An optional step is to add either a few drops of peppermint oil or iridescent glitter for the "snow" effect - we did both, but probably won't next time as the glitter was so messy even after mixed in.
*Helpful hint: Undress your child down to his/her diaper or underwear as this ended up sticking to J's jeans after awhile and I gave up on trying to get the "sticky" out and just threw them away. Otherwise, an easy cleanup!
This was really easy to make and kept my 2 year old (and myself!) entertained for almost an hour. We have so much Borax left so we will definitely make this again soon!
Have fun!
